This week in their Literacy lessons the children will be:

 

Saying the initial sounds of Dinosaur names

Making potato dinosaur footprints with paint

Designing their own dinosaur

Travelling around the room like different dinosaurs

 

Friday: The children will be doing their usual consolidation lesson for practising their writing of sounds/words/sentences (depending on their RWI group)

Estimating an amount of objects and then counting to see how close their estimate was

Capacity: how many cups does it take to fill different containers

Spare clothes

Spare clothes

Could every child have a spare pair of clothing, including pants and socks, left in school.

It can stay on the peg until used.

If children have accidents, spillages, etc we can ensure they get changed quickly to prevent discomfort.

As we will also be using the gardening area and mud kitchen, it would be great if each child could bring in a pair of wellies so that the children can explore and enjoy their outdoor classroom, or on a rare day like today, would have been fun for the children to walk through the puddles.

They will order numbers, count on and back from a given number and practice writing numerals 1-10.

Story time

 

This week´s story is Jasper´s beanstalk, to consolidate their knowledge of the days of the week and the order they go. We have also been learning the initial sound of each day to help us to read the word.

They started yesterday to make crafts of Jasper and the beanstalk as it grows.
They will also be planting a bean and watch it grow over the next few weeks.
