Just a little reminder, there will be no School on Monday and Tuesday.

School Disco

The next School Disco has been put on the calendar, it is

Friday 18th May, same times as before

6-7.30pm EYFS and Key Stage 1

7.30-9pm Key Stage 2

We had a fantastic turn out last time, I hope many of you will join us again. 

I will be on the dance floor as I was last time!

Homework

I have put in some homework for the children to do over the bank holiday weekend.

Some children have got a letter formation booklet to practice writing their sounds.

Some children have got a number formation sheet to 20 to practice writing their numerals.

All children have got 3 pieces of maths homework: number bonds, ordering shortest to tallest and addition.

   

End of Year show

I cannot believe it is that time of year already!!

The end of year show has been chosen, and rehearsals will start this week.

The children will be learning their song this week along with others from the show.

I will send home the lyrics for our song along with a link for the music so they can practice at home. 

The costume letters will be sent out at some point during this week.

Literacy

This weeks Literacy focus is: Exercise

As part of our Healthy Lifestyle theme for this half term we are focusing on physical exercise and why it is so important for us.

Each day the class will do some sort of exercise from yoga and dancing to circuits and gymnastics.

The children will learn the importance exercise and what it does to not just our body but our mind too.

 

Maths focus

This week in maths we are leaning our number bonds to 5,6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

There are lots of songs on YouTube to support learning our number bonds.

No changes to Read Write Inc groups this week, if you are unsure what group your child is in please ask me.

This week in literacy, the class are learning about healthy food. They will be sorting foods into healthy and unhealthy.

 

They will be drawing and labelling their own healthy plate.

Talking about what food we can eat all the time and what foods are as a treat and to be eaten occasionally.

Writing a menu for the Healthy Café in the classroom.

This week in Maths, the children will be learning about time using analogue and digital clocks.

We will start off learning about O'clock, then go onto half past by the end of the week and matching analogue and digital times.

School Disco

 

On Friday we had our first school disco, we had a fantastic turnout of children and parents.

The evening was a great success, everyone including myself had a super time.

 

We are planning another as it was so successful, in May.

I will let you all know the date when we have decided.  

Gymnastics

PE Lesson

This term in PE we are doing Gymnastics.

Today was their first lesson using the equipment.

 

 

 They had so much fun climbing, crawling, balancing, etc.

The children were assessed before we broke up for the Easter break, so there are new groups within RWI.

 

Group 1: Blending and segmenting for reading and writing.

Group 2: Ditty Group

Group 3: Green Group
